How Does Weather Affect My Window Tint?
How Does Weather Affect My Window Tint?
- Sun and heat: quality film resists peeling and bubbling under prolonged sun exposure, though even the best film may show gradual wear after many years.
- Cold weather: Carbamate HD adhesive is formulated to stay effective across a wide temperature range, so film stays securely attached without peeling at the edges in colder climates.
- Humidity: high humidity can slow the curing process after installation; once cured, quality film resists humidity well.
- Coastal/salt air: quality film is treated to resist corrosion, though film edges near window seals can degrade over time in coastal environments if not maintained.
- Rain: doesn't affect properly cured, professionally installed film; issues usually trace back to installation gaps rather than rain itself.
- Snow and ice removal: use soft cloths and film-safe cleaning solutions — abrasive tools or de-icing chemicals not recommended for tinted windows can scratch or damage the film.
Choosing quality film and ensuring professional installation goes a long way toward maximizing resilience against your local climate.
