Automotive Window Film Warranty
Automotive Window Film Warranty
Flexfilm automotive window films are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty designed to protect customers against manufacturing defects while providing confidence in the long-term performance of our products.
This article explains what is covered, what is not covered, and how warranty claims are handled. For complete warranty terms, always refer to our official warranty documentation.
Limited Lifetime Warranty Coverage
Flexfilm warrants its automotive window films against manufacturing defects that occur during normal use and service.
Covered conditions may include:
- Color instability
- Excessive fading
- Peeling
- Cracking
- Adhesive failure
- Delamination
If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, Flexfilm may provide replacement film material in accordance with the terms of this warranty.
Who Is Covered?
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the film and is not transferable.
Proof of purchase may be required when submitting a warranty claim.
How Long Does Coverage Last?
Flexfilm automotive window films are covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty for as long as the original customer retains ownership of the vehicle in which the film was installed.
Coverage applies only to the original purchaser and original installation.
What Is Not Covered?
This warranty does not cover damage or issues resulting from:
- Improper installation
- Glass breakage
- Damage to rear defroster elements attached to the glass
- Accidents or collisions
- Abuse, misuse, or neglect
- Vandalism
- Improper cleaning methods
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage caused by third parties
- Clearance or closeout products
Installation of window film in violation of applicable federal, state, provincial, or local laws may constitute misuse of the product and may void warranty coverage.
Does the Warranty Cover Labor?
No.
Flexfilm warranties cover replacement film material only.
The warranty does not cover:
- Installation labor
- Removal labor
- Transportation expenses
- Vehicle downtime
- Rental vehicles
- Incidental or consequential damages
Customers are responsible for any labor costs associated with removing and reinstalling film.
Installer Responsibility
The installer is solely responsible for the quality of the installation.
Issues related to installation workmanship are not manufacturing defects and are not covered by the Flexfilm product warranty.
Examples may include:
- Contamination trapped beneath the film
- Visible installation debris
- Improper trimming
- Creases or folds caused during installation
- Edge lifting resulting from installation practices
What Will Flexfilm Provide If My Claim Is Approved?
If a warranty claim is approved, Flexfilm's obligation is limited to replacing the defective film material.
Depending on the application, this may include:
- A replacement roll of film
- A replacement pre-cut pattern
Replacement of defective film material is the sole remedy available under this warranty.
How Do I Submit a Warranty Claim?
If you believe your film may qualify for warranty coverage, contact the original installer whenever possible.
To help expedite the warranty process, you may be asked to provide:
- Proof of purchase
- Vehicle information
- Photos of the issue
- A description of the problem
- Product information
- Film roll numbers if available
Additional documentation, photographs, or product samples may be requested during the evaluation process.
Will My Claim Be Inspected?
Yes.
Flexfilm reserves the right to inspect photographs, film samples, installation details, and other supporting documentation before determining warranty eligibility.
Not all issues are the result of manufacturing defects, and additional information may be required before a final determination can be made.
Normal Conditions vs Manufacturing Defects
Some conditions are considered normal and are not covered under warranty.
Examples include:
- Temporary curing-related haze
- Temporary moisture pockets
- Minor edge gaps
- Minor installation contamination
These conditions are typically related to installation or curing and should not be confused with manufacturing defects.
Our Commitment
We stand behind the quality of our products and strive to resolve legitimate manufacturing defects quickly and fairly.
If you believe your film may qualify for warranty consideration, our team is available to assist you through the evaluation process.
