Meters: Measuring and Proving Film Performance
Meters turn a film's performance claims into something a customer can see and verify for themselves — useful for showroom demonstrations, on-site consultations, and confirming a film meets local legal VLT requirements after install.

VLT (Tint) Meters
A VLT meter measures how much visible light passes through tinted glass, letting you confirm a film's actual shade percentage rather than relying on the label alone — useful both for quality control and for verifying compliance with local window tint laws.

Solar and IR Transmission Meters
These meters measure how much infrared and total solar energy a film blocks, giving you a concrete number to back up a heat insulation claim rather than relying on a customer's hand alone.

UV Meters
A UV meter demonstrates a film's UV-blocking performance directly, which can be a powerful, fast demonstration since nearly all professional-grade film blocks the large majority of UV regardless of shade or IR performance.

Glass Diagnostic Tools
Beyond film performance, several specialty meters help diagnose the glass itself before a job starts: a Low-E coating detector identifies glass with a low-emissivity coating (relevant to film compatibility), a strengthened glass detector identifies tempered or heat-strengthened glass, and an insulated glass thickness and gap gauge measures the construction of a dual or triple-pane unit — all useful inputs for a film-to-glass compatibility check.

Noncontact Thermometers
A laser noncontact thermometer lets you quickly compare surface temperature behind tinted versus untinted glass without needing to touch the surface, another way to make a heat-blocking demonstration concrete.
