Understanding UV Protection
When most people think about sun protection, they think about sunscreen, hats, or sunglasses. However, a significant amount of ultraviolet (UV) radiation can still reach you through untreated glass in vehicles, homes, and commercial buildings.
Window film is one of the most effective ways to reduce UV exposure while improving comfort and protecting interiors from sun-related damage.
What Is UV Radiation?
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is a form of energy produced by the sun. UV radiation exists beyond the visible light spectrum and cannot be seen by the human eye.
UV radiation is generally categorized into three types:
- UV-C: The most energetic form of UV radiation. Fortunately, Earth's atmosphere blocks virtually all UV-C radiation.

UV radiation, especially UV-A, is also a major driver of photoaging: wrinkles, coarsening, loss of elasticity, and pigment changes, with UV exposure responsible for up to 90% of visible skin aging.
