Can Automotive Window Film Be Applied to Polycarbonate, Vinyl, or Plexiglass?
No. Flexfilm's automotive films are formulated for rigid vehicle glass and aren't recommended for polycarbonate (plexiglass), transparent vinyl, or plexiglass windows — and these surfaces aren't covered under warranty.
Polycarbonate and vinyl expand and contract more than glass with temperature changes, which can cause film to warp, bubble, or delaminate. Their chemical makeup can also react poorly with film adhesive, leading to poor adhesion and visual distortion. A laminate film built specifically for vinyl or plastic surfaces will give better, longer-lasting results.
